Sweet & Maxwell, is a leading publisher and provider of integrated solutions for the legal and regulatory markets.
The Challenge
When Sweet & Maxwell (part of the Thomson Corporation) acquired the research organisation Income Data Services in October 2005, it was critical that IT services were consolidated quickly and efficiently so that staff could collaborate easily.
Sweet & Maxwell have a fully Microsoft based infrastructure, whilst IDS were using a Novell infrastructure, this meant that a swift platform migration was needed to ensure a speedy integration of the IDS systems.
Solution
With no prior experience in Novell technologies Sweet & Maxwell selected Telamon as a trusted partner to assist in completing the technology transition. Telamon worked closely with Sweet & Maxwell to determine how each system at IDS would be migrated whilst ensuring impact to the user community was minimised.
After analysing the IDS environment we subsequently designed, implemented and tested the individual migration technologies and processes needed to perform this transition.
Why Telamon?
As both a Microsoft Gold Partner and Novell Platinum Partner our technical experience with the technologies on both sides of the migration was seen as key to its success. Telamon’s partnership approach ensured that all three teams worked closely together to meet a tight schedule, and help deliver the project as quickly as possible.
